Latest Superstock Issues
(August, 2008)
The market has seen a nice rally off the July lows thanks
to falling oil prices, a strong dollar; however investors
and traders still face an economy that is in or will probably
be in a recession, a credit and housing crisis, high
energy and food costs, a slowing global economy, and a
volatile and difficult market that has dropped into bear
market territory several times in the last few months.
(Also in this issue, a new recommendation
for the Baby Boomer Portfolio.)

(July, 2008)
The financial media is full of advice and explanations regarding bear markets. Most of it is
worthless self serving nonsense. In this issue I’ll teach you how to recognize “Major Reversal
Patterns” and how to tell when a Bull Market is turning into a BearMarket.

(June, 2008)
It’s hard to believe the economy and markets could
move out of its doldrums with the consumers’ current
condition. It will take more time for the consumer to
improve their balance sheets (increase savings, and
values of stocks, real estate and paying off liabilities)
and confidence.

The Agile Trader Weekly Wrap-Up
(#007: August 25, 2008)
by Adam Oliensis
As August grinds to a close, weak volume and diminished volatility should be considered the footprints of consolidation phases. While there has been some strength in recent weeks on the rallies up from the July lows, we need to see which way the market moves when volume expands again in order to get a clearer idea which way the next impulsive trend will move.

Special Reports
(#017: August 13, 2008)
Every portfolio should have a few energy stocks. Most analysts and investors understand that one of the greatest problems the global economy faces is having enough affordable energy. They also understand that we are stuck using oil and natural gas for the foreseeable future and until an alternative can be found that is affordable, clean and available on a global basis. This could take years if not decades and trillions of dollars.

(#016: July 30, 2008)
In this Special Report, we analyze the worst and also the mildest bear markets. We also take a historical look at recessions and will answer the questions: what causes them, how long do they last, what defines a recession, how often do they occur. (#014: July 17, 2008)
The traditional definition of a bear market is a 20% decline from a previous peak with a combination of a broad-based market deterioration, with a negative backdrop of psychology, economic and corporate performance.
Since 1929 we have had 14 bear markets.
Average decline = 31.27% (smallest = 21.2% in 1990, largest 47.9% 1929)
Average time to trough = 12 months (quickest = .75 years 1990, longest 25.2 years 1929).
Most bear markets are associated with a recession and a deceleration in earnings. By the time a recession is official much of the damage to stocks has already been done.
