Intel Beat Estimates As Did CSX

INTC CSX ADTN LLTC beat estimates and HCSG missed estimates.

What's Happening This Morning

Asia and Europe lower. S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 futures are higher by 4.30 and 10.25. Brent Crude is at $83.50 from $84.69 with gold at $1158.70 from $1153.90 and natural gas at $4.18 from $3.99. The Up Dollar ETF (UUP) closed at $23.60. Currencies see the Yen at 93.48 from 93.03 with the Pound at .65 and Euro at .74. The 20 Year Treasury ETF (TLT) closed at $89.74 up by 0.32%. High yield bonds and corporate investment grade bonds higher.

Yesterday saw 1604 stocks rise and 1501 fall on the NYSE. NASDAQ saw 1382 rise and 1297 fall. The S&P 500 is now above its 50 and 200 day moving average. The 10 day spread moving average of breadth has been mixed in the past ten days and we moved back to cash last week on the Madison Market Timing Indicator.

Economics

Federal Reserve Beige Book due out at 2:00 p.m. EDT. March CPI is due out at 8:30 and is expected to grow by 0.1% from 0.0%. At the same time, March Retail Sales is due out and is expected to grow by 1.2% from 0.3%.

Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke testifies before the Joint Economic Committee.
