Futures Higher China's Plan To Provide "Greater Flexibility"

In After Hours Trading

China moved to provide "greater flexibility" on the Yuan but in reality no change this morning and U.S. lawmakers still want more changes. U.S. stocks rose for a second week.

What's Happening This Morning

Asia and Europe higher. S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 futures are higher by 16.10 and 29.50. Brent Crude is at $79.4 with gold at $1262.30 and natural gas at $5.10. The Up Dollar ETF (UUP) closed at $24.94 lower by -0.04%. Currencies see the Yen at 91.28 with the Pound at .67 and Euro at .81. The 20 Year Treasury ETF (TLT) closed at $97.69 lower by -0.16%. High yield bonds rose and corporate investment grade bonds fell.

Earnings Expected

Earnings due after the close include SCS SONC.

Yesterday saw 1714 stocks rise and 1365 fall on the NYSE. NASDAQ saw 1444 rise and 1228 fall. The S&P 500 remains below its 50 day moving average but is above its 200 day moving average. The 10 day spread moving average of breadth has been weak in the past ten days but just turned to neutral and we moved back to invested on the Madison Market Timing Indicator on 5/10/10.
