New Feature In Morning Matters

This morning we add a new section to each day's Morning Matters. There will be a section on readings of note. We will provide the link when possible. In certain cases, you may have to be entitled to the website to read the full article. As an example, the Wall Street Journal will provide partial access but to get the full story you will need to be a subscriber to the online.

We will provide some comments on the article and what the investment implications are from the article as well as the link. We hope you enjoy this feature. Remember there is no Market Matters on Friday. The big event for today is the results of the European Stress Tests at noon eastern time today.

1.Ford (F) saw its debt deal postponned as credit ratings agencies will not rate due to the Financial Reform Bill aka Dodd Frank or as well like to call it DRUNK (Dumb Reform Undertaken With Numbing Killzones)The impact of DRUNK could be no bond offerings. Wall Street Journal.

2.Coca Cola (KO) multiple to rise as it outperforms other food and beverage companies. But it will not return to its heyday of P/E at 50. Expect more stock price appreciation for Coca Cola.

3.Senators Nelson and Conrad dissent and want to extend Bush tax cuts. This would be great for the economy. History has proven it makes no sense to raise tax cuts in a recession or coming out of a recession.

4.Shopper traffic was up 7.7% in June compared to year over year. Seems like consumer may not be dead!
